Example project imagery. Actual placement, fill level, and accepted materials depend on site access, disposal rules, and verified load weight.
Each hydraulic, tandem-axle trailer has a 4-foot-tall box and approximately 16.6 cubic yards of geometric volume—ideal for bulky debris, cleanouts, and active jobsites.
Capacity & safe loading
The box measures about 16.6 cubic yards by volume, but the material load cannot exceed 12,000 lb or cause the trailer to exceed its 17,000-lb GVWR. Dense materials reach the weight limit long before the box is full.
These conservative examples help plan a load without exceeding the trailer's payload capacity. Actual weight changes with moisture, compaction, material mix, and how the load is distributed.
Sand
≈2,700 lb/yd³
Wet sand may require less
Gravel
≈3,000 lb/yd³
Stone size changes weight
Dry topsoil
≈2,200 lb/yd³
Reduce for wet soil
Wet dirt
≈2,800 lb/yd³
Moisture adds weight quickly
Sod
≈2,500 lb/yd³
Varies by soil and moisture
Mulch
≈800 lb/yd³
Near the trailer's volume limit
Broken concrete
≈4,000 lb/yd³
Must be evenly distributed
Roof shingles
≈350–400 lb/square
Layer count and moisture vary
Planning estimates—not loading guarantees. The percentage bars show approximate trailer volume, not weight used. Loads must stay level, below the top rail, properly distributed, and within all trailer, tire, axle, hitch, and tow-vehicle ratings. When in doubt, load less and verify on a certified scale.
